Through local and national negotiations coordinated by the CARE-CRUI consortium, the University of Bologna takes out a large number of e-book subscriptions covering multidisciplinary areas.
Due to ongoing trials for potential acquisitions, further resources are available.
Almost all content can be accessed simultaneously by an unlimited number of users.
How to search for an e-book
E-books for which the University of Bologna has subscribed to user licences can be searched on the websites of publishers and aggregators, as well as through the University's tools and catalogues.
AlmaStart discovery tool
The AlmaStart discovery tool offers an integrated search of documents that are available in the libraries or accessible online for the University of Bologna's users, including but not limited to books, articles, journals, databases, AlmaRE collections and AlmaDL collections. It is possible to filter the books available online directly in the result mask.
The Bologna Library System Catalogue
Thanks to a constant import of metadata related to the e-book collections that the University of Bologna has acquired, descriptions of these materials can also be found in the Bologna Library System Catalogue.
Users can carry out a filtered search for the e-books that the the University has subscribed to by clicking on the link below and selecting "AlmaRE - Biblioteca delle Risorse Elettroniche dell'Ateneo di Bologna" in the "Seleziona la tua biblioteca" dropdown menu. The electronic titles can be identified by the eBook icon.
