AlmaDL:

  • Promotes open access to research results and data as a practice to support Open Science;
  • Coordinates the network support service for library Open Access;
  • curates the institutional repositories AMS Acta, AMS Historica, AMS Laurea and AMS Dottorato;
  • collects, organizes and disseminates scientifically oriented content resulting from institutional research, teaching and third mission activities in digital format according to the FAIR principles of Open Science;
  • supports Courses of Study in the collection, management and enhancement of dissertations and doctoral theses in digital format;
  • curates the Open Access publication of scientific journals of the University's research facilities and supports editorial staff in legal, administrative, IT and editorial aspects;
  • Ensures the legal deposit of doctoral dissertations, electronic journals, and unpublished research products;
  • identifies formats and metadata to ensure network indexing and preservation over time, according to international standards and guidelines;
  • ensures the assignment of persistent unique identifiers (ISBN, ISSN, NBN, DOI, HANDLE) to collected and archived content;
  • supports cultural heritage digitization projects, taking care of their online dissemination and promotion through national and international portals (Cultura Italia, Europeana, Worldcat, OpenAIRE);
  • ensures compliance with copyright regulations, in cooperation with experts in the field, including by developing model contracts and licenses for use of published content;
  • ensures compliance with national guidelines and international protocols and standards in the implementation of software applications, fostering their integration and interoperability with information systems, service providers, and search engines inside and outside the University;
  • manages the Digitocs application for enrichment of the Polo OPAC and coordinates service delivery in collaboration with the libraries;
  • curates training for colleagues and users on the use of software and services as well as on the topics of Open Access and Open Science, ethical reuse of information, and conscious management of copyrights;
  • provides assistance to users through dedicated helpdesk services and by joining the "Ask the Librarian" service.
